Just when I thought that all WordPress CMS business themes were either too expensive or just too ugly, Nick of Elegant Themes comes along and corrects me!

E-business comes with plenty of color, and style options so it is a theme that is suitable for practically any niche.

I will personally be using it for my business website, Emma Quequish Media which is still in it’s baby stages.

I just love the different ways that you can present your website with this theme!

The front page is awesome, with a slider, and a rss feed box which displays your latest blog posts.

E-Business Front Page

The control panel is sweet! It controls a lot of aspects of your site making it easier for you to set up!

EBusiness Control Panel

Why not see what other great options and features this blog has by downloading it? Membership costs 19.95 USD, and with it you get access to all the other themes already released as well as any future themes for a year. Pretty sweet deal, if you ask me.

View the Demo, and tell my what you think. If you don’t have an Elegant Themes membership then please consider buying it through my affiliate link, it would help me out a LOT!Similar Posts:

I run several blogs and the plugin needs for each vary depending on niche and audience. However, there are five plugins that I find myself ALWAYS using.

Akismet-This plugin is always part of the default WordPress install. It is great at weeding out most of the spam. You will need an API key from wordpress.com but don’t worry it’s free and totally worth it!

Feedburner Feedsmith- I use this to redirect all my default feeds to my Feedburner feed. Feedburner is great for keeping tabs on your subscriber numbers for free.

Woopra & Google Analytics-quite a few of my blogs are approved to use Woopra whch is a very comprehensive analytics program. For the sites that are not approved to use Woopra, I use Google Analytics. Both programs are free, and very good for looking over your statistics.

Subscribe to Comments-I like to give readers the ability to interact with others, and one of those ways is for them to know when more comments have been made.

OioPublisher Direct- I use this plugin to utilize OioPublisher. I use it for my advertisement sales, as well as my affiliate ads. It allows you the option to provide more then one payment option.

All-in-one SEO Pack-I use this plugin to optimize my blogs for search engines and to easily resolve duplicate content issues.

CommentLuv-At the moment, this plugin isn’t activated on this blog because of technical issues but as soon as things are resolved it will be right back up. I use it to allow commentators to show their blogs last post. It is nice for me to because if the commentators post headline grabs me then I go and visit it.

So, that is a list of the plugins that i ALWAYS use! What plugins do you depend on?Similar Posts:

In my opinion a theme is only as good as the features that it provides. So without further ado, here is my list of desired features.

Tabbed sidebars

featured posts slider

prominent content

sidebar ads

468×60 banner ad in header

Subscription by email form in sidebar, RSS options on prominent display

2.7 compatible comments

Integrated subscribe to comments, recent comments

DropDown categories in horizontal menu style

Page menu in horizontal menu style

integrated breadcrumb navigation

Post thumbnails. and featured post thumbnails

automatic image resizer

Custom Archive and Sitemap templates

Little Image indicating what categories the post is in.

single2double sidebar

Of course, some of them will be removed if there is no place for them to fit in with the design, but this is a list of things that would attract me to a theme. I just hope that I will be able to do each and every one of them without cluttering up the design.

What are some features that you look for in a theme? (Hint: If I’m successful in creating my theme, I may begin creating themes based on the features and suggestions that YOU-the reader has!)

Unfortunately I won’t be able to show you my second step results because I don’t have a scanner so my next post will be about my results from the third step.

I have been trying to find a great new Word Press theme for this blog but it hasn’t been easy. Everything just blends into one, and there are so many people using them. My budget doesn’t allow for a premium theme, let alone a Word Press theme!

I haven’t been successful in getting themes done in the past, but I went over what I had done wrong and realized that it was due to lack of planning. I tend to be impulsive when I do things but in actuality, I work better when I have deadlines and actions mapped out.

I have gone over several design and blogging websites and have made up a guideline for myself, by following the outline that Matt Brett talks about on the ProBlogger blog. I have also integrated my own little steps so that I can create a good custom theme, in a good amount of time. I am toying with the idea of creating posts for each individual step.

Write down some of the features that I want in my theme. This one should only take a day or less.

Sketch outlines of what I want the design to look like. This should only take a day or two.

Decide on a color scheme. This one should only take a day or less.

Use PhotoShop to begin the design process by creating a rough outline of where the header, sidebar, content, etc. will be. This should take a day or two.

Use PhotoShop to begin graphical work. This will be done bit by bit. This should take me about 5-7 days.

Finish up the design by neatly slicing everything for self-organization. This should only take about a day or two depending on the complexity of the design.

Download the xhtml/css starter kit from WPCandy.com and code my design into xhtml/css. This should take me about 4-7 days.

After having completed the xhtml/css, I will locally install Word Press either on a demo site or in a local Word Press installation and import the sample data that is provided at WPCandy.com. This will take less then a day.

Start converting the xhtml/css template into a Word Press theme, using the demo or local installation. This should take me about 5 days.

After the conversion is complete, I will make sure that each page validates. This will only take less then one day.

After that, I will install the theme onto my blog, and then I am done!

Now, this is just off the top of my head so I am open to suggestions on changing the process so that I can make it work better, and faster.

What design process do you follow, and what should I change in my process? Let me know and I may share your comments in another post with a link back to your blog. Similar Posts:
